Looking good, predawn! I haven't had any time to work on mine lately, so maybe you'll finish before me!

Thank you! It's a very fun pattern. It can be found at this site: [link]RockstarGirl wrote:I love that! What pattern are you using? It looks different than the Nintendo Sampler I found in the forum.
Haha, I wouldn't be too sure of that! I, too, have been neglecting my stitching.Kareesh wrote:Looking good, predawn! I haven't had any time to work on mine lately, so maybe you'll finish before me!
Awesome, thanks! I may one day get around to this... stupid Walmart got rid of their cross-stitch supplies, so I have to drive a pretty good way (30 minutes for the small place with not much selection, or an hour to Hobby Lobby) just to get fabric and floss, or order online. Which online is fine, but for some things, like the patterns I'm working on in KG Chart, I would rather see the actual floss when I choose colors because KG Chart has some funny ideas about colors.predawn wrote:Thank you! Your Walmart had cross stitch supplies? The ones that I have lived by (in two states) have never sold that stuff, just a selection of yarn, and a lot of beading and floral stuff. That's a shame you don't have anywhere nearby to buy your stuff. I understand about there being some things you'd rather see in person first. I've never used KG Chart myself, but I've heard stories about it's strange color selections.RockstarGirl wrote:Awesome, thanks! Yeah, it did. They remodeled ours a few years ago, and when they did they *really* downsized the fabric/craft department, and one of the things they got rid of was cross stitch supplies. They used to have a whole aisle of cloth, floss, hoops, patterns, booklets... I have two within reasonable distance of me and they both got rid of it. A friend of mine told me the other day that some of them were starting to carry it again, apparently a bunch of stitchers inundated them with emails demanding they bring it back. It's probably too much to hope for that ours will be one of them, I live in a fairly small town so there's probably not enough demand here.predawn wrote:Your Walmart had cross stitch supplies? It is a really awesome pattern. As much as I complain about the boxes that make up the borders, it's a lot of fun. I changed one of the colors, but other than that I've had no complaints.RockstarGirl wrote:Awesome! I am eventually going to work up the nerve to do this one... just as soon as I can get somewhere and get the supplies.
The thing I'm most worried about is the black fabric... I've heard it's a total pain. I'll have to remember the trick of putting a white towel or something in my lap to help.predawn wrote:It is a really awesome pattern. It can be a pain sometimes, but the white towel trick works really well, and if you have good lighting, that helps a lot as well. It's totally worth it, though. The black Aida makes it look amazing.RockstarGirl wrote:The thing I'm most worried about is the black fabric... I've heard it's a total pain.
