sprite gloves

Post by LostInAForest »

hi! i'm new to the board but have stopped by here and at the blog more than a few times for inspiration!

here are some gloves that i've knitted and stitched over the last month or so:
(sorry, the quality is awful as i don't own a proper camera and really have no idea about lighting conditions and... stuff  )

they're all made from wool/acrylic blend, i first knitted the glove and then stitched the sprite on using the same quality yarn only doubled. they're also lined with a thin viscose fabric, to avoid itchies from the wool and to keep extra warm in the freezing swedish winter :D
the mushrooms i made for my boyfriend (he's however wearing mario/luigi on the completely natural and in no way staged picture, strange), mario/luigi and megaman were custom knits i made for selling.
I've recieved orders for sonic/knuckles, bub/bob and another pair with megaman, maybe i'll post them as i finish them!
my long term ongoing project is a sweater for my man with a huge mario star. we'll se if i manage to finish that before next christmas...

look forward to more fun and inspiration here at the board!

Amazing work, it makes me want to jump back into knitting again. How long have you been knitting for?

thank you!

been knitting for as long is i can remember, really. but mostly stuff that doesn't require any pattern/chart, for instance i've done a lot of lace-style shawls on huge needles and just made it up as i went along but the last few years i've managed to overcome my fear of patterns and started to create socks, mittens and small stuff. i'm all excited about my first really big project, the star sweater, but it feels weird after a lifetime of not following any directions. i always alter the patterns, though. i can't help myself! :D

do you have any knitting projects posted here or was it too long ago you swung those needles?

Oh man, I remember I hated following patterns for knitting (crochet is fine, but knitting? no way), it was always more fun making up a pattern

The last time I went near the needles was probably some time early last year. I remember the last few things were: A longcat scarf for a friend, one fingerless glove and a sample of shadow knitting. Unfortunately, no nothing posted here, by the time I found this site I had moved on to other crafts :)

Anyway, make sure you post pictures of the star sweater :D
