Pokémon Project 160 WIP

Post by Ad36 »

Hi,

I started cross stitching about a couple of weeks ago and I started of big :D
Basically I'm going to stitch all the sprites of the first generation pokemon. I'm using the sprites of the pokemon yellow game, because that's the game I have.

I'm going to put them all in a blue or yellow frame (because of the blue and yellow pokemon logo) of 65*65 stitches. A problem I had, was that there's just no way you can make a rectangle with 151 squares, so I added the 8 gym leaders and the sprite of Ash.

So I'm making 160 squares on one big cloth. The plan is to make at least one a week, although I hope to make more, otherwise I'll be at this for 3 years :D

I finished brock and misty and am now working on surge, pictures below

very cool idea for a design and looking good so far, try to look at it as 160 mini projects rather than one big one so it doesn't feel too overwelming :) good luck and look forward to seeing your progress :)

The original Idea was to stitch my 6 all time favourite pokémon. And I was going to put a black frame around all of them and then the idea grew =)

I'll show the entire cloth when I've finished the first row. And I'll keep up the good work!

Do you have a pattern for all this? It looks like it'd be amazing to do. I also just started cross stitching, and I already have a list of "Projects To-Do" that just keeps growing the longer I spend on this site.

I do have a pattern for this. But the program I use, doesn't have a copy-paste function. So I have 160 separate pdf-files; one for every frame.

I can put them all in a zip-file if you like.

Pokémon Project 160 WIP update

Post by Ad36 »

Update. It's been a while, I had to look for this thread on page 3 :D

But I've been stitching frames. Every frame is 65 by 65 stitches and I don't like counting stitches. So I made a column of frames all the way down an to the right, so I won't have to count stitches for frames anymore.
I did ran into a snag. The cloth wasn't cut straight (it hadn't occurred to me to check) and the 10th frame won't fit under the ninth =(

So now i made 8 frames, so I can make the first 80 frames and then future me can decide what to do. I can either move the tenth frame about 30 stitches, or cut the cloth in half. But that's for future me to worry about.

Anyways

I finished Serge.

And here's the whole cloth.

I have a long way to go.
