After seeing the Zelda alphabet stitch on this site, I was inspired to make something similar for my 2yo daughter.
I downloaded a whole bunch of sprites from Earthbound, assembled this image in GraphicConverter and knocked down the color table to 64 colors to keep things sane:

I got a great deal on some Aida cloth that hadn't been cut properly (the clerk was livid), did some trimming and taping and got started:
Figure it won't be -too- difficult, given that I've left plenty of whitespace. My wife is skeptical about whether this is really a gift for our kid and not really for myself and to be honest, I'm not so sure either.
