Hyrule Royal Family Crest Clock

Post by Laialda »

I made the pattern for this about a month ago and after much trail and error of making it fit properly and look decent, I finally finished my clock! ^_^

Clock was bought from IKEA and spray painted to appear stone like. Zelda crest pattern for the clock face can be found in the pattern section here on sprite stitch.

Took me about 2-3 days to do the stitching after I got off work and then another week to make all the adjustments so the clock hands worked properly, and the spray paint was dry. Really happy with how this turned out as it looks just about how I envisioned it months ago. :D Thanks for the look, hope you like!

Great job! i love how the crest isn't a solid color, like part of the paint chipped off. the spray paint job is equally impressive. at first glace, i thought it was a real stone (or at least imitation stone) frame. it is an all-around awesome clock.

Thanks for the great comments! ^_^

I've always been a fan of the tarnished looking crest ever since I saw it on a shirt. Knowing that it wouldn't last forever though I figured a cross-stitch pattern was the best way to keep it around. :D

Still surprised at how well the spray paint turned out actually, lol. I knew right off hand it wouldn't been stone since I sprayed it and it never looked like stone because of that to me, but good to know people seeing it for the first time don't think so! ^_^

Awesome job! That had to be tricky, getting the numbers and everything lined up properly. Circle patterns are hard :/

On a side note...I have a tattoo of that Hyrulian crest

This turned out great! :D
I saw the pattern you made a while ago and it's nice to see it made. The aligning and everything really worked out.

Ohhh... everything about that is so beautiful. Were the numbers stitched in grey? In the picture they look as though they're the same color as the frame, and the effect is wonderful. The clock reads as one complete object, not as a stitching project that was framed for the heck of it (and outfitted with clock parts). Does that make sense? I hope so.

I also love that you used oatmeal-colored cloth. It gives the clock such a wonderful look.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments everyone! :D

@Autumn - The numbers were done with two strands of black and with the gray frame, it makes it look like a dark gray when not under direct light. This was one of the few projects where after I was finished, it look just liked I pictured/planned it to be. ^_^ I think this helped a lot towards it looking like a whole unit and not just a famed piece. If I make a mock two I may try scratching up the frame some, in my mind it would look kinda neat. :P

It really is lovely. You're making me want to come up with a clock of my own!
