I have been working on this for a couple hours a night for over a month. When I'm done for the night, my wife takes a picture of what I've done and uploads them so I can see how the project has grown. This is the 28th and most recent pic. I have been dying to share.

Looks good so far.

I thought about stitching this map myself but I'm not sure yet.

Nice work so far! I've started it today myself... little different (no mario in the map) though. Good luck on yours!

thanks for the comments everyone. @lijnloos i found the borders to be extremely tedious and boring, but once i moved to the middle i actually felt like i was accomplishing something. good luck on yours!

@jim, I know... I've started in the topleft corner with the borders down and right, but stopped after 1 thread. Now working my way to the middle. I printed it out on 12 sheets so doing the first sheet now, then moving on to the next. I'll see if I can post a picture here soon (not having a real internet-connection makes that difficult).
I like that you're doing it to, makes it fun to see your progress..
Edit: Here's the picture... I made it his afternoon and then started stitching again, so i'm a little further than this, but you get the point

it looks good so far! where did you get the pattern? i enlarged a handful of pics from cross stitch ninja (can't give him enough props) that i found online and made the pattern myself. it took me 6 sheets so i can only imagine how ginormous yours must seem. keep up the good work. hopefully i'll finish the hammer-thrower tonight before bed.
