Sprite Stitch Board!

Hi everyone!

I have actually been working on this project for a while now, and am not far at all, but I thought I should at least share what little bit of my progress I have done on it!

Firstly, here's the map of the town of Onett from EarthBound, so you can see what I'm going for:


(I'm not doing the check-background, just the actual map part along with the "labels" for things like food, Hospital, etc.)

Here's just the outline and the "Onett" text box completed:



And here's where I'm at with it now (just a little bit of land done!):



Here's a close up of it (with a teeny bit more added):



The whole project is 19" by 17" just so you can get an idea on it's size.

It's going to take me forever and a day to do this, but I will be sure to post whenever I get more progress done!

Oooh, it's ambitious but I like it!! All that green would pwn me and give me a headache lol

although i'm not familiar with the map, what you have so far looks good and i'm sure once it's done it will look great. i just had a quick question- what did you do to the edge of your cloth to keep it from fraying? did you just do a normal stitch along the edge or is it something different? i'm getting sick of dealing with the masking tape.

Nice idea! So far its looking good. I think the time spent will be worth it- Earthbound does totally rock after all.

Yeah, I have no idea what Earth Bound is, but the map looks cool and it looks like you're doing great.

Just wiki'd it, and it says it's called "Mother"? Is it for NES? I do have a nice NES emulator...

The series is called Mother in Japan. The first one is called Mother and is for the NES, there is a translation patch out for it and a easy version patch so you get twice the exp and money, otherwise you have to do a lot of grinding. The second game is Mother 2, but was released under the name Earthbound in the US, it's for the SNES. The last game in the series is (you guessed it) Mother 3 and was released only in Japan for the GBA. Again, a translation patch was released for this. Not enough folks have played Earthbound... I finished Mother 3 last year and loved it so much.
