Plastic Canvas Companion Cube by Moxi

Hey everyone! I've had a little bit of time on my hands and I decided I would tackle a couple of projects.

The first was a plastic canvas companion cube that I made for my cousin as a present for her high school graduation. She's a huge gamer, so I wanted to make her something special. I bought a white cardboard cube box from Michael's and used it to figure out what size each panel of the cube would be, then modified a companion cube pattern that I already had to fit. The finishing was what took forever!

I was originally going to try to use a magnet to hold the box shut, but the magnet sheet I had wasn't strong enough. So I went to the next best thing - velcro! The inside is lined with felt both to cushion the box (it was still a tad bit too small and to hide the stitching on the lid.

I wasn't there when my cousin received the cube, but I know that she was pretty excited.

See my next post for pictures of my other project - a Dr. Mario Needlebook.

Wow thats really cool. I never thought of making one you could keep things in! I made one but I ended up filling it with rice and turning it into a small pillow :P. It looks really neat, nice work :)
