Hi everyone! I've recently gotten back into cross stitching after going many years without doing anything -- I held a very demanding job for 10 years and then, this past December, decided my life needed a change, so I quit the stressful, panic attack-inducing job to work from home in my mom's adult foster home. The bright side of this is I have more time for crafts, reading, etc. Anyway, I've been working on a HUGE baby quilt with cross stitched squares, but THAT won't be done for another year or so (if I'm lucky). In the meantime, I decided to try making a small project for a friend's soon-to-be-12-year-old son. I'd bought him some books for his birthday (that stressful job? Teen librarian... you can take the librarian out of the library, but you can't take the library out of the librarian), so of course he needed a bookmark. I THOUGHT I got this pattern on this site... but I can't find the link to it, so it's possible I found it elsewhere -- maybe some helpful person will be able to confirm whether or not this pattern is on this site somewhere. In any case... here 'tis! I ended up altering some of the colors of the original pattern and, thanks to a couple of mistakes on my part, needed to also alter some of the shapes. It's stitched on 14-count cross stitch paper and, though you can't see it, backed with a piece of brown felt, which I stitched on very last. Apologies for the mediocre picture quality -- my camera isn't that great at taking pics of small things, and the metallic cross stitch thread I used also seems to make my camera have fits.

EDIT: HA! I knew I'd found the pattern to this on this board... here's the link to the original pattern: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=309 MANY thanks to the maker... I had a ton of fun making this :)
