Hello, people of SpriteStitch. I've been a lurker for some time now but have decided to post my cross stitch related work for further comments on what I've done so far but mainly to reach out to like minded people.

My first few; for practice until I get to more serious business.

I've been doing bead sprites for over a year now and wanted to expand my horizons in regards to crafts and the likes, hence my starting to stitch; I'll be painting, sculpting and crocheting(?) soon enough. For the remainder of my work, see Flickr or Pixelgasm

I love them.

Also, I spent a bit looking through your flickr while at work, and even my non-gamer coworkers thought your stuff was amazing.
Kudos.

Special thanks for beading Ristar. xD He looks awesome.

Based off a piece by one of your forum members, I wanted to do something similar without outright copying it.

Did you actually burn the aida after finishing the stitching? that looks amazing.

Yep, that I did. I practiced on a few leftover cut outs first but once I had better burning skills I went for the real thing.

How did you like using the metallic thread?

I can safely say that I probably won't be using that much metallic thread unless it's for a really, really, really awesome future project(not unlike that ^ one :D)
The strand going in and out just clutters up way too easily near the entry point, even being very careful about it. I do have some silver and bronze thread to use but I have to find the right piece to use it on.

Just wondering -- were you using the DMC metallic thread? I'm asking because I got some really thin poor gold thread in a kit that I used for the Pac Man Bookmark and I was *hoping* the nice thick DMC metallic thread would work better. But maybe it ends up being just as thin and wriggly when it's split into two strands. :(

The triforce is DMC and it was somewhat stiffer than the rest which is 'anchor' brand gold thread.
