Thanks!!!

It took a while to get used to parking, as well as trying a few different styles before I really settled into parking...and there are times when I'm like "nope...taking a break!" :P

Here's the backs on these two projects so far...the butterfly looks messier than I'd like, but it will improve since I broke it into three chunks (left flowers, butterfly, right flowers)...and sorry that it's a hit and run pic...I'm headed out to work so I don't have the best light :P

It's always fun to see the back of other people's projects!

It's time for a lot of links and some news!

Today saw the very last post in my "Blocks from the Past" series go up on my blog! Just in case anyone wants to look at them, here are the links!

Story of Seasons: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... ition.html
Mega Mall Story: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... ition.html
LoZ: Oracle of Ages: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... racle.html
Teamwork edition (blocks that my mom and I worked on together): https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... ition.html
Fish Pond Park: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... ition.html
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... -dawn.html

And last but not least....Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns: https://firehawkegeeks.blogspot.com/201 ... wasnt.html

You may be going...wait, Firehawke...didn't that one have issues??? Yes, yes it did. That's the one that had major aida issues, with 1 direction being 16 count and the other being 18 count. Well, I have good news!!! I talked to tnitnetny about the issue and she said that the messed up count won't cause a problem as long as it's square!!! :yahoo: So, Dessie is making a comeback! Christmas vacation starts in 1 week, 1 day, 3 hours, and 51 minutes...and she is going to be worked on over Christmas break! Keep your eyes peeled for update pics from 3, yes, 3 projects over the course of the rest of the year!

It's been another stitchy filled weekend! (just 1 more wrrk of work until vacation!)

I am a quarter of the way done with Camping Mama!!! The number of parked threads should go down soon (currently have 118 needles parked...1 of those is threadless)

And I started and finished page 3 of Hometown Story!

I don't think I'd ever park with more than 2-4 colors myself, but it is really interesting to see alternative stitching methods like this. I'm more of a 1 strand at a time cross country kind of girl mostly. (ex. I stitched the first 30k stitches of my Epic Mario with a single needle until I lost it. LOL) Thanks for sharing the backs as well. I can see that the parking method must use more thread in the back, but your mouse? one is still relatively neat and tidy.

Thanks! The reason why the butterfly is so crazy is because when I started on the flowers, I tried to use the same strand to do every single stitch of a color, which in some cases meant 1 stitch in the color on the left edge of the pattern...and then all the way on the right edge. I did that for 1 set of 5 rows...then I totally changed my mind on that :P I'm bound and determined to keep working across the whole pattern...and I swear this is the only pattern I will do that on! I'm way too stubborn right now to just switch to working on 1 page at a time like I usually do one these :P

Bad news on Dessie, guys :(

I started working on squaring her off today and realized that with the amount of rows and the richness of the image (not to mention the confetti nature of it!), I can't wing it. And I tried working with the original image again and I can't get it to work out :banghead: Maybe this isn't the origibal image like I thought (and I haven't been able to find another).

Long story short...if I have time, Dessie is going to get an entire restitch!

On a good note, I made it to Hobby Lobby this morning and got the rest of the supplies for the next block I'm going to start when I finish one of the ones I'm working on (I figure Pochica is going to be done WAY before the butterfly :P)
