How fun to see them all lined up like that!

The colors look great on the black aida!

Wow, I've been gone for a while, just lurking occasionally, and not stitching much. But I did do a cross stitch for a friend for Christmas using water soluble canvas.

My latest project "completed", lol. Deadpool for my best friend on his birthday. Being a fan of Deadpool and a cross stitcher himself, he appreciated the humor (and he and I both know my hate for French knots, which are in fact a complete PITA on plastic canvas). Deadpool is stitched onto a much more sparkly in person pink aida, 14ct, which is then stitched into the 14ct plastic canvas I used to create the frame mat. It ended up being about 6x8 inches, which as it turns out is a sonnova to find a frame for, ended up with an ugly wood one that I spray painted white and added a diamond dust spray finish to. Aside from Deadpool himself, who I stitched using a modification of a custom made sprite I found on dA (and used with the artist's permission) I completely made the rest up myself, which I'm rather proud of (especially that unicorn).
I really like the look of having the plastic canvas as a mat, I may play with that idea again.

This is absolutely delightful! I love everything about it!
I must say, I have toyed with the idea of using plastic canvas as a mat but wasn't sure how it would turn out - I see now I should have given it a go!
