Do you use DMC thread? I'm wondering what colors you used for the vivid greens in the mushroom. As I've started creating my own patterns, I've noticed there's a distinct lack of neon green in the palette!

I've had the same problem finding greens and blues in the DMC palette. My local supplier stocks Puppets threads and these have some gnarly bright greens and blues, two of which I'm using for my Zelda map. Venture out of DMC for those colours you need. Most of the commonly stocked brands are pretty good - it's all cotton after all.

The two greens are 702 and 914.
They're not really neon but very vivid. 699-704, and 909-913 are all very pretty greens.

I really enjoy your work! I really like that when a piece is finished, you mention the Aida Count, number of colors, and all the details in the post.. But, I was wondering, how many strands do you use? Like, on the 14 and 16 Aida counts, your stitches looks so solid, especially on the Link and Zelda ones, and ESPECIALLY on this Bowser one! Any time I try a stitch, you can always see the "x". Please, bestow your wisdom upon me, O Great Stitching Master! ^_^

That V-Day Bowser is actually pretty awesome. I'll bet your hubby loved it.
Really though, I was going to post that I'm in love/lust with your Gambit. If you have the pattern handy, I'd love it. I've been trying to figure out my next project now that I'm winding down on a few late christmas/early birthday items. And I think that I need a little Gambit love next to my monitor screen!
