Well I was one of those that said "Shut up and take my money" when Nintendo launched the WiiU. Each minigame from Nintendo Land has a mosaic leading into it and I decided it would be a great project to take on. I did all 12 mosaics on 14 ct aida, and are 31x115. It took about two months to complete them all.

Hope you all enjoy.

Hubby and I were the same. We even started saving up about 6 months prior to release because we knew we'd be dropping a pretty large chunk of money that day. (I think we spent around $650 with the deluxe system and games)

Would you be willing to share the patterns for these? I've been wanting to create patterns for the mosaics, too, just haven't gotten around to it.

They're really cool! Is that a custom-cut mat, I take it, or is there some crazy call for narrow openings in photographic framing, like for tiny panoramic shots?

Firstly thanks to everyone for the kind words.

LInk is my Homeboy- I was planning on posting the patterns shortly. All I did was copy them off the tv, so I'm not so protective of them. I just got Macstitch so I'll post the patterns as I make them. Right now I have them in a gridded moleskine so it's a little harder to understand my short hand. As for the system I wasn't planning on getting it at first and then played it at a friends house. My credit card still hates me....

RMDC- I love being able to justify tool purchases. When I told my girlfriend that the matts would be $98 each without framing or mounting she let me buy the matting tool I've been eyeing for a little while now. Hard to squabble over $80 when your looking down $200

This is probably more detail than anyone cares to know, but order of completion was:
Legend of Zelda
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Luigi
Mario
Metroid
F0
Picman
Game and Watch
Takamaru's Ninja Castle
Animal Crossing
Balloon Trip Breeze

I ran out of room on the original sheet so Ballon Trip was done sidways on the Metroid canvas then cut off and attached at the bottom of Donkey Kong. The space between each cross stitch is 6 spaces on the 14ct aida (3/7" as if english measurements weren't weird enough to begin with.) All of the blocks were done with DMC colors except Link. (I was too hyped to wait for Michael's to open the next day so I used extra colors from an Impressions Gold Collection kit.

I'll post some closeups shortly.
