Messenger Bag with patches WIP

Post by samarin »

So, I'm getting kinda bored of stitching pokemon, so I picked up a mini project to do this afternoon.

I made the pattern a few weeks ago, this is the image it was based off of.

This is the complete product. It was done on 14 Ct plastic canvas. I didn't have any change laying around, so i put him next to a spool for size comparison.
The project took me about an hour and half, with 361 stitches.

I attached it to my boyfriend's messenger bag.

Adorable!

Also, I'm jealous of his bag. :o

It was purchased from ThinkGeek.com, for a rather reasonable price. It can hold up to a 17" laptop, and it really durable. Its like his man purse, he doesn't leave the apartment without it.

I died when I read this! I'm sure he would appreciate that comment ahaha :D

Your Yoshi is real cute! I've never thought to cross stitch my plastic canvas. Or turn the canvas diagonally, for that matter. Now you've got me thinking. Hmm...

I may have received a slightly annoyed look when he saw what I said about his attachment to his bag. I actually got the idea to cross stitch on plastic canvas from another user on the site that was decorating toques. Can't remember what part of the forums it was on tho.

So i've finally found time to get some more stuff added to the messenger bag. The first time i sewed yoshi on, i didn't notice there was a pocket on the front and stitched through it. So I got him and 3 other sprites added on properly now. Added a yoshi egg, oshawott and mudkip (both water pokemon starters).
