I've also discovered it is MUCH easier to use KG for this pattern rather than the .pdf files. Unless you can print the pattern (which in my case, I cannot) it's alot easier to look at the pattern as a whole.
As for the blocking out, have you tried a grid method? That might help you out a ton and keep you from making mistakes.
Everyone's are really looking great so far! I agree with lightning, it really doesn't feel like you've accomplished much in one sitting, but looking back feels awesome.

mystikdreamer: my very first attempt where i was filling in just the black i learned the value of gridlines after shifting kabuto's face over by two rows. . .my blue marking pen has been invaluable ever since.
my mistakes this go around were uneven thread tension and this really annoying deliniation in moltres' body. i had stitched the head half up and down, set the project down for a while and came back and stitched the rest going across causing a sharp line between the two. there were other little spots where i pulled the thread waay too tight from being stressed out from my old job and accidently taking it out unknowingly on flareon and porygon. and accidently making omastar cross eyed by skipping a row trying to stitch while tired (which caused my boyfriend to laugh for a good five minutes. . .) I would not be this picky if this wasn't going to be a gift for my little sister when all is said and done.
icedragonj: i've debated wether i want to start with zapdos again or bulbasaur. good point you made! any little thing to help.
thanks guys for the encouragement and advice. to all still stitching away keep it up!

Wow looks great annelotje! I can't wait until I'm that far along, haha! Do you find that you're more inspired to work on it the closer you get to the end, or vice versa? (Question applies to everyone, of course!) I always tend to stay up super late when I'm really close to finishing a Pokemon.

i feel you! i am soo bad about telling myself it wont that
that long to finish on one (i've restarted and am doing one at a time for now) but suddenly its 2am and im going cross eyed. on other projects (like the yoshi map) i get in to a halfway done rut/near burnout when all i have left for the most part are color fill ins of large areas.
annelotje: over halfway done! show that pattern who's boss!

Thnx!! I found out that I stalled after the first 1,5 row but now I'm working on it like a mad women. I really really want to get it finished!

Honestly, I was really motivated to get the first row done but now I see how much I have left to do and I got a little stalled. The worst is huge sections of white. I hate them. And that's exactly what I need to do right now.

I did the exact same thing! I hate to look at it now!
Having said that I really should pick this one up again instead of starting something new...

Ive been working on this for about a week now with the thread I have in the correct colors. My roommates and friends think I am nuts for taking it on. Don't Mind the stains on the fabric my cat decided It needed more color.
I have a sinus infection so I may be able to get more done this week.
