I love my scroll frame, the only problem I have with it is finding the best position to work in, it's large and in charge! Usually I get myself at an angle on the sofa so I can prop one end onto the top of the sofa back and the other end on my knee and work sideways. It's just about finding a way thats comfortable for you. The hoop method is good and of course not as cumbersome as a scroll frame, however on a piece this big, just think how much excess you'll have flopping all over the place, although many use clips to keep the excess material in check.

I often watch TV on my computer and I have found if I open the top drawn on both sides of my desk, that can support the frame quite nicely without blocking the working area. Large scroll frames can be a bit unweildy at times, but not using them for super large projects is usually more annoying.
claire223w wrote:Hi guys. Do you use 2 threads at a time? Also how do you find an appropriate sized scroll frame. Thanks
I got my dad to help me make one so that I knew it would be the right size, I have also seen them at op shops occasionaly. If you get lucky you can find a bargin.

If we put our stitches together, we have the full top row.
Only I stitch on blue fabric. I'll upload a picture soon.
Looks really good.

Looks great! I admire your dedication... If a project ends up taking me too long, I tend to abandon it in frustration/boredom... I don't think I've seen this one completed so I'm enjoying seeing your progress.

Keep it up!

Just a question for those of you guys who have stitched mew already. To me, i'm looking at color # 842 (small d, main color for it's head) and #3340 (two horizontial dots that surround the main color) and they look beige and orange. Anyone else's colors look like this before they stitched? Kinda worrying me. Maybe it's just my bad light?

The colors for Mew do look a little bit off but that is going to be okay once you have stitched them!
I have been stitching a bit on this project and I hope to finish the third row in a few days...

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I was concerned due to the fact that I had the wrong thread color for #733, and feared the same thing happened for the two I mentioned. I bought the color chart DMC offers (yay clearance!) so I can double check without having to find a chart online or drive to the store.
If I can ever find the charger for my camera battery, I may be brave enough to post a WIP of my own.

I had the same concern when I first started, but don't worry it looks fine in the end! It takes until the outline to really look like a typical 'Mew' but it'll be fine
