Update on mine... I always think I'm getting somewhere with it, then see everyone else's WIP and realise there's still a lot more to do.

Re: Epic Pokemon pattern WIP!!
I'm going to give this a go, my fabric and threads should be arriving tomorrow
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to cross stitching, I've never even completed one yet, so I'm just hoping my love of Pokemon will get me all the way through this one, even if it takes a few years. Quick question, I have bought some 18 count magic guide aida, which says the grid should wash off, how would I go about washing it without the colour of the threads fading? I don't wan't to start on it and do all that work if the finished product might end up ruined.

Found this washing guide from another post:

If you're using DMC threads, you should be fine. I haven't ever had trouble with them bleeding when washing. Only "cheap" floss will bleed; the type often included in kits. If you are worried about your floss, you can pre-wash it before sewing with it to see; set it on a white paper towel to dry to see if it stains.

Re: Epic Pokemon pattern WIP!!
I've loved going through this thread and looking at all the WIPs, it's made me really want to get in to cross stitching more. I've been in need of a good hobby for a while, although I must be crazy for taking this on as one of my first projects...
I finally got my materials last night and spent a couple of hours on it. I love the magic guide aida, I have terrible eyesight, which can make counting quite hard, but I'm having no trouble at all now. I don't get home from work until 6pm, so I won't have much time to work on it apart from weekends but I'll post a WIP once I have something worth showing.

Thank you! That blog it brilliant, I had no idea about most of that stuff, it will come in really handy when I eventually finish.funkymonkey wrote:Found this washing guide from another post:

Since university has started there was less time for the Epic Pokemon Pattern. So it took me more than a month to finish the next page:

Started stitching on my pokemon again last week and have been able to do half a new page since. Not as much progress as I would have liked, but other hobbies keep creeping up on me
