I'm loving the rug snake! I've been making lots of granny squares recently, and have just been storing them in a plastic bag. The rug snake is a great way to store them, and looks like it's easy to count how many you've made. Really like the colours you've used for the squares as well!

The amigurumis are mega cute too!

Update Time!

I finally finished stitching all the squares together for my rug :yahoo: It turned out a bit smaller than I expected though, its only 60 cm x 100 cm (2 ft x 3 ft). I will stick a boarder around it, but I am trying to guess how many extenion squares I can get out of the remaining wool, which I can't get any more of. In the mean time it is keeping me warm while I stitch/game and try to decide what I should do with it.

My grandma gave me a portion of her wool stash last time I visited, so I have been processing that into my stash. This involved turning balls/etc into skeins, freezing and warming them repeatedly over a week or so to kill any moths (some of it was well munched), hand washing it, waiting for it to dry, and then winding it back into balls. I also picked up a whole lot of that fuzzy feathery yarn from the op-shop at a dollar a ball. I ended up getting ~$30 worth :D I have about that much again in cheap acrylic wool for amigurumizing.

Stitching is not completely forgotten, I started on a pattern from Magicka I made ages ago :) This is my current lecture craft as it fits in my bag

At the end of the mid-year break Mum turned up to visit. With her came a new sewing machine she picked up on sale (just a simple basic one). I have never had a sewing machine before, and a million project ideas started swirling through my mind. To start with we bought enough fabric to make a basic wrap-around skirt in black and one or two dark red pattern prints. Unfortunately I am now back at uni with quite a significant course load, so I will have to wait another month for the mid semester break before I can play with my new toy.

I love how a playstation controller is a standard instrument for size relativity amoungst gamers :P

I saw you working on that in the lecture last week. Looks good so far, love the colours, even though I am not familiar with the game. I need to get me a lecture project, I am thinking it will be mini-swap related.

It seemed the best measure I had lying around

I will probably switch to some magnets or the swap now, I have decided I don't like the colour transition on Blue (too sudden) and am trying to decide whether to unstitch or stich over in an attempt to salvage. I love the colours in Red though, and I may have to do something around Journey on the strength of them.

Some more new projects :) The patterns at the moment are on my blog (linked to), but I may add them here if there is interest once I get my main computer back up and running. It couldn't deal with dust and 40 deg heat and keeps blue-screening.

These two you have already seen from the swap and challenges

Two new guys! I finally feel like I am starting to get the hang of making and patterning amigurumi. At least, ones that use simple techniques :p

I've been working on a couple of other things as well, so I will post them soon too! Just need to get some pictures/finish off one or two first
