Plastic shrink canvas

I'm trying to figure out how to do a video game spin on an advent calendar my mother did years and years ago, wanted to know if anyone knew what kind of canvas it would use, based on the qualities of the finished product. Each individual ornament was made with basic needle point, but the canvas was a hard plastic, almost of the appearance of fused perler beads mixed with a shrinkidink (guessing the heat shrinking locked the threads in place). Ive looked at the stores in my area but cannot find anything similar.

Sounds like it was probably made with plastic canvas. It's like a plastic grid that you can stitch over that works great for 3D objects like advent calendars, ornaments, and such. I have only ever found it in craft stores and thrift stores where I am. It comes in different sizes just like aida fabric for cross stitch and you can cut it to any size you need. If you search it you will find tons of examples of projects made with it. Hopefully this is what you were looking for :D
