Thank you.

Here's another cross stitch I started this year.
Cloth: 14-Count Aida, Color: Natural

I've made more progress since I took this picture, so the next update shouldn't be too long coming. It's a sewing room from a Dimensions chart. I'll share the exact name and more details in a future post.

It is fun. Lots of different elements in it. I stitched a teddy bear the other night. :)

Here's a new big project. It's a blackwork sampler. I'd been eyeing the pattern for over a year.

Save the Stitches
Designer: Elizabeth Almond [Blackwork Journey]
Pattern: http://www.blackworkjourney.co.uk/ ; Free (Look under freebies, it's a lot of PDF files)
[this pattern was released in 24 "Blocks" over the course of a year long stitch-a-long in 2014]
I am currently stitching Block 1 (patterns 1-5/134)
Save the Stitches WIP 1.jpg
Fabric: 25-Count Antique White Lugana (Zweigart)
Dimensions: 180 wide x 360 tall Stitches (over 2)
Threads: DMC 310/Black, DMC Coton Perle Size 12 -310/Black,
DMC Diamant (Metallic) - Green Emerald (Copper in the original pattern), Light Silver, and probably Light Gold

Close-up of the first 2 finished patterns. The bottom right still needs more metallic stitching. The little one needs a few beads. I am still stitching the top right. The fill pattern is actually really close to the one on my biscornu.

A teddy bear? Cute!!!

Wow...that looks SO cool! Can't wait to see more!

(is contemplating whether or not she should really start thinking about yet another project...and then starts crafting drooling over the idea of trying this project in her living room colors, gives up in doomed defeat, and goes to the site :P)

It's been stitched in and on a lot of different colors; if you do a pinterest or google image search, you should be able to see a lot of examples. I got so close to stitching it on darker fabric with light green thread and then on 32ct so i wouldn't have to buy bigger fabric, but I decided my eyes would thank me for going with white.

As for starting new projects when you really should exert some self-control.....
I'm guilty myself.
But then again, if it's not another "cross stitch" project, it doesn't count. right? It's just learning and practicing new embroidery techniques.....yeah

I started this 2 months ago.
It's my 2nd hardanger piece and I'm going to call it a table runner.

I've just been looking through images on the internet and lacking a pattern on most of them, eyeballing or making it up it as I go along.

Started working in hoop and hand after this, so fabric is a lot more crinkly.

I've never tried hardanger...you piece is looking beautiful!!! You should be proud of your accomplishments so far! An older lady at mom's workshops brought in some of her handmade hardanger and talked about creating it...it's not for the faint of heart!
