cirestan, I feel awful for your kids' situation! But that was a hell of a read. You're a very effective writer. I laughed, I cried, I threw out the leftover Laffy Taffies and M&Ms. :P I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and the kids.

Reactions to food-stuffs is the worse. I'm highly allergic to peanuts. I grew up in a small town where I swear I was the only one with a peanut allergy. And this was back in the day before everyone knew about it. Can't tell you how many times people tried to give me stuff that had peanuts. Fortunately, I've had the allergy since I was a baby, so I knew very early on what to watch out for. Made a few mistakes here and there, but nothing major.

Cirestan: I can't imagine having to watch for all those food dyes. Dye is everywhere! Even some of the natural foods have it. Ugh...

It's really hard on the family, as the sister who had just passed away a few months ago, her birthday would have been this Saturday, so it's just tough. Plus I have a catering gig, but my dad wants to go down there right away....it's just stressful...
So sorry for your loss Kareesh. I'm here if you want to talk.

Just my little rant: Today I had someone tell me I need to not be such a 'tree hugging hippie' and eat meat. I do eat meat I just make sure it is locally raised and has no added hormones and such. I am allergic to all mammal products so red meat, pork, and dairy are all deadly to me. I get so annoyed by the people who assume I do this because I care about the animals feelings. Yes, I do care that they are awful to the animals but I care more about the fact that the USA uses chemicals outlawed by almost every other country. That bugs the $#!& out of me! Or the people that don't understand when I say NO MILK it means NO MILK don't offer me ice cream. I just get so annoyed.

I've been where you are and I know how gut-wrenching that moment is. I'm really sorry to hear you're going through it. The fear that it's going to be the new "normal" is awful. :(

(As a side note related to anxiety, I've had anxiety and panic attacks around breathing since a near-choking incident a year and a half ago. Now every time I've got a head cold - like today - the drainage can bring on anxiety, and if I'm raising a tissue and it happens to cover my mouth for a second while I'm breathing in to blow my nose, I go straight into a full-bore panic attack. My own minor vent tonight.)

People really don't understand at all, do they? I try to be super grateful that I don't have any dietary restrictions, because I know lots of people who do and I see how they're treated. :(

It just never stops, it seems.

This past week hasn't been super great. My diet has been awful, and I haven't been exercising at all. Then, on top of all that, I've had 3 deaths just in the past couple of days. Two of them were older gentlemen at my church and the other one was a married in family member (my uncle's wife's brother, who I've actually met before). I've not been totally emotional about them, as I didn't know any of them super personally, but I know it's rough on my dad (I think he's going to be officiating 2 of the funerals).

On a completely different not, in about 30 minutes, I'm meeting with a personal trainer at a gym I just signed up for. Super nervous. :-/

This may be the first time i've ever had my teeth chatter out of anger. You may have seen the video I posted back in March, an arrangement I made on Singamajig's doing a cover of Open Arms by Journey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opIdh_Ms2RM

I tweeted it to Hank/John Green, hoping it would get shared and have eternal internet glory. Or, ya know, some views. Well, on Monday the views started picking up. I was getting several comments an hour. I thought hooray! It's finally caught on! Just to find out the next day that some radio station downloaded my video from YouTube, uploaded it onto their own facebook page with no citation, source, or credit, and it has over 1.2 MILLION VIEWS. The traffic I'm getting (now up to 15,000) is just the overflow from people searching for it again on Google.

If you care to join me in hate-posting to credit the source of the video (or at least commenting with the youtube link in your post), their copy of it is here: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152924604751411

If you do like the video and care to share it, please share my youtube version. I'm less upset about not getting "credit" as I am looking at all the comments of people who love it, and probably would have subscribed to see future content, if they had the option. I know I could just report it on facebook as an intellectual property violation since they didn't ask my permission to post my content and they may take it down, but at the same time, a part of me is happy to know so many people have seen it, and I fear if I chopped it off, no one would ever find my original one.

I have messaged the facebook page to please edit the post to include a link to my youtube, but so far they've ignored me.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Just ignore it and hope people find the original? Protest and have the copy taken down?

I left a comment with the link to your Youtube video, but I'm not sure what else you can do. If you report it to Facebook, they might take it down, but then you still won't be getting the credit you need.
