I've had to deal with abusive customers or managers in almost every job I've had and sympathize with those going through it. I've even gotten a damn death threat. They need to get it through their heads workers are trying to provide a service and that does not entitle them to treat them as inferior servants. And if they're having a bad day they need to stop trying to give it to others. If they can't be nice they should at the very least be decent imo.

My uncles gone into hospital. No one thought to tell me until yesterday. He had surgery on his heart about 3 years ago and lately he just hasn't been well at all, the company he was working for moved or something and he's been stuck in the old building and been helping move furniture around etc. They kept him in the dark about his jobs future for a long time too. so it might've been stress or something. But now we're just waiting for the doctors to give him an MRI scan, I think we're all thinking he'll have to have some surgery. Trouble is, he's stubborn and they won't be moving him until Monday now and he's been threatening to release himself because he feels ok and he's bored. But people say that and next thing you know their dead. He loves his exercise and cycles everywhere, he never takes it easy. I love him to bits the silly old fool. and I know it's not like they rushed him straight into surgery or any big emergency like that, but I'm still worried, and everyone's just waiting around. My aunt has been going to see him every day, but then we've had to sort it so one of us stays with gran while my aunt goes.

This street, where I grew up, is a neighbourly street, we know each others names, people know about each other, the guy over the road always cuts his neighbours grass for her at the weekends etc. So today was quite worrying... There's my Mum's place, a small block of flats, our old dinner lady lived in the flats and used to bake us lots of cake, she passed away years ago, but her husband, Richard, is still there. Then on the other side lives Mrs Hawkins, the old lady who introduced my sister to theatre, then it's my Grans place. I was just with my Aunt and Gran (after she accidentally called me and I couldn't call back and I thought something had happened to my uncle), and we saw an ambulance and fire engine out the window and my Grans neighbour going in and out of the flats. I walked up and asked him what was going on, seemed Richard (the guy in the flats) had fallen, but against the door so they had to get to him through a window, he's now been taken to hospital, I really hope he's ok. Must've been a shock for my Gran's neighbour as well.

At least my Gran is well today...

Thanks I really appreciate that.

My mum is having a really bad nose bleed. Watching the TV together one moment to watch blood gushing down my mum's face is not good. It wouldn't stop, it still hasn't stopped, my aunt is with her after having just been to see my uncle in the hospital, my sister is sitting with my gran. I have never seen a nosebleed like that ever, pouring out like a red river, then it started coming out of her mouth, then she started making choking noises and spitting up blood, which has pooled in a fold in her t-shirt. I panicked, it wouldn't stop, I couldn't get hold of anyone. I called the emergency services. A car came the paramedic told her it's normal, wait for it to stop, then left. I called the emergency services over a nosebleed, I am a worthless stupid person.
My aunt came and sat with her and that's about an hour ago now, she told me to sit in the other room. I can hear mum retching. I should've known what to do...

Bex- Don't be so hard on yourself, sweetie. Most people would have called for a paramedic with a nosebleed like that. It's scary seeing a loved one go through that. I had one once to where I bled all over my mom's kitchen coming out my nose, mouth and eyes. She ended up taking me to the hospital after she vomited (she doesn't handle blood well). I hope your mom feels better and that it stops soon. I also hope your uncle is doing better. *hugs and cookies*

It's just about stopped now, just in time for my sister to call, my Gran's been sick. So my aunt has gone back to sort her out now. I think we're all knackered now. :cray:

Wow! Hugs to you QB! Sounds like a rough day! Hope your Uncle, Mom and Gran all get better quickly! I've not seen a nosebleed like what you described either, but I would have also called EMS for it like you did. Don't be hard on yourself. You did the right thing!

Yeah, I would have been hitting my phone right away. I had no idea a nosebleed could get that, er, prolific (let alone the eyes; holy crap, Remy). Wow. Blood is a major anxiety trigger for me because of a particular traumatic incident a few years ago where I nearly lost someone close, so I might not even have the ability to dial correctly in a situation like that, let alone shrug it off as "just a nosebleed". I'm sorry that happened to you and your family, Bex.
