We couldn't get an exterminator since it's a dorm, but maintenance came and put down traps and bait, and this afternoon one of them got caught :/ We thiiink that's the only one, but we'll see...QueenBex wrote:I'm guessing they aren't the cute variety. Just a small rant, I'm sick of feeling physically ill. Like, my nerves are literally just making me sick right now. My stomach is unhappy, I feel simultaneously hot and cold and like, I have to be careful how I sleep at night or it makes me feel worst. And it's literally just nerves, or anxiety, or something, because I remember doing this in high school and earlier. Except now it's not feeling sick in the morning and getting to school and feeling better, it's just me stuck here and feeling bad all day. I got a counseling appointment, hoping that maybe that can help with my stress levels, but literally it just feels like my stomach is all balled up and sitting there right now, and I'm freaking over this whole 'nerves make you feel like death' crap.

Good on you for scheduling an appointment, though. I feel for you! It sounds really rough. I hope the stress settles down soon.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
I've moved so many times, that I need to use my fingers and toes to count them. However, this move takes the cake! The living arrangements in the previous place were awful, but we made it work (a decent sized 1 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend, brother, and I on my aunt's property
) Like I said, we made it work, but the relationship between our aunt and us turned sour, so we couldn't get out fast enough. Then, with me working full time and trying to keep my anxiety/life down, packing didn't happen until the last minute (tip: don't EVER do that if you can help it!) which raised my irritability levels further. THEN, all weekend long, as soon as we started getting into the groove of packing, loading, and moving, it rains! And not the "oh! It's so cozy I'll stay in with a book/craft" kind. Crashing, booming, hailing, sort of frightful kind of rain. Once we FINALLY had everything sorted out and cleaned (because we had 5 different peoples stuff in that apartment [long story] to move, shuffle, etc., etc.), my aunt has the audacity to show she can be even more horrible. So now, as I'm typing this, I'm amongst towers and towers of boxes scattered EVERYWHERE and no matter how many boxes I think I get rid of, the boxes seem to tower more and the house is a train wreck.
So all in all, it's been a nasty week for me and I haven't had time nor energy to work on anything.

That sounds horrible Sunkistshiek, I hope you get settled in quickly, I'd totally throw you a house warming party or buy you a couple of ciders or even just hug you or something. I am here if you need me, my PM box is always open for a good old rant if you want.
The job interview went badly, I'm trying not to loose it now, I can't thank you guys enough for spritestitch and making this site what it is, a good distraction and pick me up. That and silly little games on facebook of course.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
I'd like to vent a little, if you don't mind.
I have psoriatic arthritis, which means that I have psoriasis attacking my joints. I have external psoriasis as well. There is a shot I'm supposed to take, and I did for a while. The thing is, one of the possible side effects is developing lymphoma. I just couldn't deal with that, especially since I have small children. I'm okay, but the worst patch is on my right palm, and of course I'm right-handed. It affects my whole life, including my crafting. I hate it. No one wants to hear about it, so I just keep it to myself. But it really bothers me.
Also, and this is not as big a deal, my internet connection has totally sucked lately. It makes me want to punch something, but of course I can't because of my hand.

SunkistShiek: I've been there, right down to the hail on moving day and a tyrannical landlord (though luckily he wasn't family)! I'll light a candle for you tonight. Hope the worst of it is over for you.
Bex: Oh, man, I wish I'd seen this thread before I saw the Neutral thread. I'm sorry it went poorly! I haven't been on FB for a few days except to respond to notifications, so if there are details I haven't seen them. But I'll light one for you tonight as well. And who knows - maybe a new opportunity will come out of this one!
Starrley: You get a candle tonight, too. Psoriatic arthritis is tough stuff. I've got a close family member who deals with it. I try to remind myself pretty often how lucky I am that I don't have a chronic condition that interferes with my life. The world isn't compassionate to people who don't share that luck.

It's always the worst when you have those little things. Because as if the big things don't suck enough, it always seems like the moment you're having a problem coming to terms with it, the little things start to pile on *hugs* I hope it all starts to get better soon!starrley wrote: Also, and this is not as big a deal, my internet connection has totally sucked lately.
