Ugh. That sounds awful. Hugs are winging their way digitally to you.

:cray: thanks. I'm feeling much better now I'm home. I would've lost it completely on the bus ride home if it weren't for BMH, so a big thank you goes to her too. (i know I didn't mention it BMH but sometimes small talk is all I need to stop me from losing my mind completely.)

I don't even want to think about what it all means for my job hunt now, the last few months have been a complete waste of time, i'd rather go back to sofa surfing then get a supermarket job...

You're welcome, of course. I know well enough that talking about ordinary things helps to distract the mind, so that's what I did.

Tis a wonderful thing. Anyway, glad you are feeling a bit better. What you described sounds awful, and you shouldn't have had to tell that advisor what is basically none of their business. I would complain and if you want to I will write a letter for you - I'm VERY good at complaint letters.

Should you even be considering working when you're suffering from mental health problems? Go get a sick note and give yourself time to heal a little.

I'm righteously indignant on your behalf, QB! At best that's the height of ignorance, but perhaps that's giving the jerk too much credit. More likely he likes to watch people squirm. Good on you for not indulging him in his probes.

Bex: I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I don't know what sick jollies he was getting trying to dig into your private business but I agree you should complain. There is no excuse for what he did and I'm so proud of you for keeping it together for yourself in front of him. I hope karma finds him in a similar situation with all his secrets exposed for uncaring people to poke at. Sending you comforting thoughts and affection, sweetie.

I also am mad on your behalf QueenBex! It sounds inappropriate and I probably would have told them that or asked if all this detail was necessary - much less legal. I'm participating in the hiring process right now and there is a whole long list of things you CAN NOT ask the person being interviewed (religion, family details, etc.) so I' really surprised that they did that.

In other news - I too am joining the sleepless, or at least, sleep deprived. * has been happening at work. We will be getting new leadership which means there's a ton of uncertainty and worry over CHANGE/fear of change in the office. Between this, the interviews (today I pick up the candidate, give them a tour, and interview them) and some not so awesome family health news I have not been getting a lot of sleep. I know I'm stressed and need a break, I may try to leave work early today... blerg...

Oh yeah and I'm trying to finish a paper and can't get a hold of the coauthor >.<
My life doesn't suck - I just don't handle stress very well when so much is going on.

kuja.girl- I hope your family health issue works out well and the chaos mellows out for you. Too much stress is no fun at all. Wishing sleep and a reprieve finds you soon.

My minor issue in the scheme of things... I've been busting my rear to meet a deadline for a project I was asked to assist with and was happy to focus on it and not on my in law's health issue as we wait on more test results. I'm used to very little sleep but was finally feeling the need to drift off. I got ready to put my needle work down and met the eyes of a mouse. I'm not a fan of 'critters' that are not pets and am wide awake watching the trap. My sorry excuse for neighbors are probably to blame as we've had to deal with a few other issues due to them. But trying to look on the bright side I'm two days ahead of schedule on the project. Hopefully I'll be able to get 4 hours of sleep tomorrow.

My daughter peed in my kitchen cupboard and my son vomitted all while I'm trying to cook supper. Going on vacation tomorrow, my little germ bags better not be sick :green

I've had my new glasses for all of a month, and they're broken already! Australians take note; just because they're cheap, doesn't mean SpecSavers are any good!
