Haha! Well, that certainly is a bit of mind-reading! I would suggest you look into getting one of the reptile night bulbs for at night so you can keep it on during the night and not keep them up and that way they can still be warm. If you want to know the sex of them, I believe blood tests at the vets can be done. Not sure of the price tag that comes with that though. LOL! Glad things are looking up for you!

Kuja, after looking at the pictures of your birds in the happy thread, I think you've got two males. I make that deduction because they both have very bright cheek spots, though it's hard to say for certain without looking at the undersides of their tails. Males usually have block coloured or striped under-tails, where the females are usually kind of speckled. Being particularly talkative/whistle-y is also a male trait.

Wow so much advice and love for my dumb-dumbs! :)
@MeiTow I put a pretty heavy cover on the cage at night, so I think they're fine then. It's during the day when I remove the cover that I see them the most uncomfortable (they snuggle up at night too most times which is pretty cute). They were both near the lamp this morning after I turned it on so it looks like they appreciate the extra warmth. I'm just nervous about leaving it on for so long when I'm not home... I'm paranoid like that.

So I've looked at Dee-dee's errr underside and tail. His/her tail feathers are solid yellow - I can't see any stripes OR speckles - and
lutinos, male or female, both have bright cheek spots. He/she is also quieter than Dum-dum. I need to bring them into the vet anyhow (introduction) so I may look into having them sexed. Otherwise well, I just have to watch out for them being "too friendly" with one another.

No madam I will not be purchasing the two sizes too small blazer with fake pockets for £60. Where the frick do you get so much plether from anyway!?! And thank you so much for looking me up and down with disgust in your perfect eyes, go straighten those woollen things pretending to be jackets and have far too many buttons then is necessary. How fricking dare you, i'm a customer just like everyone else. Pah! Good day to you, I said good day!!
Or more realistically, "errr no."
£60 indeed! Thats all I had on me for the whole outfit, bus tickets and electric top up!
What the frick happened with the sizes as well? Suddenly everywhere seems to agree that size 20 is the biggest anyone is ever gonna need.
I hate clothes shopping more then I actually thought...

I hate clothes shopping, too. On more than one occasion I've been reduced to tears by not finding anything in my size that I liked. We have a few "plus-sized" stores here that have a pretty good selection, but they're pretty much out of my price range.

Clothes suck. Even here in Australia, everything seems to have mysteriously shrunk...
So I was at a music festival the other day. An awesome one too, with a couple of my all-time favourite bands playing. Anyway, I wanted a good spot near the front to watch the headline act, which was Green Day whom I had seen once before and OMFG THEY ARE AMAZING LIVE but never got any photos of. So I stood in front of the stage, 3 people back from the barricade, 3 and a half hours before they were due to start. Not a big deal; I got to watch Placebo, Alice in Chains, Jimmy Eat World and A Day To Remember while I was waiting, so it was cool. The crowd was fairly civilised until Green Day started, when everyone behind me threw themselves forward. I have never been in a crowd so aggressive before. I had bruises all over my back when I looked the next morning, so many people were throwing elbows and kicking and just being downright violent. I have no idea where I ended up in the end, but I sure as hell wasn't anywhere near the front anymore, and that was after maybe 10 minutes of jostling. And to add insult to injury, 2 people I was standing near at the beginning were pulled onstage, one was given a frickin' guitar (

). I'm more annoyed about the bruises and being pushed around, but that was annoying too. And my photos were crap. A fairly mild rant in comparison to what everyone else is dealing with, but it annoyed me all the same.

That's a terrible end to what sounds like a magnificent concert experience (HOLY CRAP ALICE IN CHAINS). It sucks when it all goes wrong at the end.

It's race week.
Cheltenham has a population of about 120,000. Expected visitors to be in excess of 250,000.
Noise, traffic, dense crowds, posh people dressed in the finest tweed, drunken louts dressed in whatever they could find. News is on hold this week unless about the races. Restless nights as cars zoom and skid round the roads. Ticket louts. People giving out leaflets. Buses packed. I wonder how many horses will die this year...
Always amazes me, I expect it but it still shocks me how many people there are and how loud and pushed about everything is and how they all stare at you when you walk passed the packed pubs, just like I can tell a race goer from a mile off (tweed or no tweed), they can probably see me for what I am, a lowly resident of this playground of the rich and famous.
I wonder if the Queen will pop by, she has a horse and rider and usually comes to see them race.

This is me writing this down to calm my nerves, not really a FML moment.
I'm giving a presentation in an hour to campus faculty and researchers. I get really nervous when I have to present to "peers" - I'm getting much better with my presentations to students. Practice makes perfect and all that but I still hate doing it.

That sentence made my day. The notion of Royalty is just so foreign to me. And hang in there with clothes shopping - I think everyone above a size "8" (US) hates it... and fake pockets are the WORST. Stupid fashion. the pair I have has pockets but they aren't really functional since they are like 1.5" deep.
