So, I got a call from the bank this morning. Turns out someone has my card info and has spent close to $1000!

That sucks that somone got ahold of your card info! I hope the issue gets resolved quickly and you get your money back!

I'm glad nothing came of the laptop, but I'm oddly dissatisfied; very anticlimactic!

Yeah, I am a tad disappointed. Something must be up though because I went to check my account and someone made an $800 payment on the card, so now I get to call them again. It was a third party payment with someone's checking account and none of my family has my info, so who knows what's going on. The whole thing is very confusing

Ally, I don't wish your situation on anyone. It's just that time of year. People are terrible and want something for nothing. Hope you can get it all situated.

I felt oddly offended too! If you're going to nick my money at least spend it on an overseas holiday or something!

Random question...but uh...how do you spend that much on Minecraft? I've spent a bunch on Minecraft...but never even come close to that much. What a weird thing to buy O.o

I know! Turns out the last couple of charges on my account were for nekkid ladies (since I can't call it what it is!)! Some little so-and-so has my card and he's blown my money on Minecraft, theme parks, Chinese jokes shops and nekkid ladies!!! God, at least do something cool with my money!
Is it weird that I'm more offended about what my money's being spent on rather than the fact that it's been stolen to begin with?

Why hasn't your account or card been shut down so they can't make any further changes? Wouldn't this be something the bank would have done after they talked to you?

The card was cancelled as soon as I initially called them, but nothing can be done to track the transactions until they're visible on the statement, and unfortunately, that took a few days.

Ahhhh! Okay, good! I thought it might have been a bank thing and the person was just continuing to rack up charges!
