I hate admitting defeat I'm too stubborn for my own good but I'm going to have to fold on the les mis pattern. I've been fighting it for hours. It will not reduce colors down to 15 max without looking like *bleep* for me and lose massive detail. Anyone interested in giving it a shot for the requester I'd uber appreciate and so would my laptop which I'm tempted to throw out the window at this moment. :banghead:

Everything in my life is infinitely more difficult than it needs to be. Why?? I'm a pretty decent human being. I pay it forward with random acts of kindness. I give to an assortment of different charities and even sponsor a kid in south Africa in my mother's name!
Apparently all this good karma still isn't enough to counter whatever bad karma I created in past lives. I just want to cry!
My boyfriend and I are buying our first house together.. exciting times. Except that everything we have to do is somehow mixed up, messed up or lost, or needs to be done in triplicate because whatever original documentation we did was sent to us in error..
Our closing date is tomorrow.. the mortgage company is STILL asking for a bunch of information that we either sent our lawyer already, or the mortgage broker already, or that they might have thought to ask for in the first place???
There's one last adjustment (that we know of) to be handled, so we put it through on my credit card.. except my credit card has now been flagged for fraud!!!! So they cancelled it. I had to fight with them to open it up for 15 minutes so my lawyer could put the charge through on it. And now I have no card to put the $500 deposit on for the moving truck we are renting next weekend! (I'll get a new card the week AFTER, of course).
Everyone we talk to says they've never heard of all the issues we've been going through. Ever. And some of these people have bought 2 or 3 properties for themselves!
It's so frustrating!! Any simple task in life, just name it, I'll manage to run into every roadblock and speed bump along the way :banghead:

Off to sweet-talk one of my friends into letting me charge their card next weekend.. :cray:

So sorry to hear you're having such bad luck. As someone who also receives bad despite the good I try to give out I can totally sympathise. Hope you manage to get things sorted.

 Thanks Sofara and BMH.
Sitting on pins and needles today (somewhat literally, as I found one of my needles in my car and stuck it in my pocket so I don't lose it heh), hoping there are no more issues. I'm stuck at work all day and will have a hard time correcting anything that comes up.

I really feel for you, acidMiasma - buying a house is one of the most stressful things most people go through, and that's when everything goes according to plan. When issues like this crop up, you get into a situation that no one should have to deal with. I can particularly sympathise because when I bought my flat a couple of years ago, I nearly lost it four or five times during the paperwork period because the seller refused to take it off the market until we actually exchanged contracts. It was a very desirable property (underpriced for the area because it was a repossession) so lots of other people were interested and kept putting in offers, which I then had to match every time. I could never have managed it without my parents and their very generous offer of financial assistance! But I was going out of my mind worrying about it - every time the phone rang I just wanted to cry because I was sure it would be more bad news.

Sorry, this was supposed to be a sympathetic post but it turned into a somewhat self-pitying rant... acidMiasma, I really hope you get through this and can enjoy your new place!

 I don't think I could deal with that! I was nearly in tears through just dealing with the lawyer and broker and lender demands, never mind having to counter even more offers from countless other people!

We got two more scares today.. the last one was literally TEN minutes before the lender's funding cut-off time. TEN MINUTES!! Who waits until the very last moment to flip through some pretty important (imo) paperwork???? Ignoring the fact that we had already sent them (the broker, lender, AND lawyer) copies of these things long ago (social insurance numbers, IDs and credit cards, back and front) I still had to bust my butt to get a decent photocopy of them on the world's worst photocopier at work. That was actually the easy part, because THEN the guy doing work on the AC units on the roof flipped the wrong breaker - and took out the power to my office AS I WAS HITTING SEND. No biggie.. reboot everything.. except the network is down now.. Wait 2 minutes.. Still down. I am in full panic mode now - it's FIVE minutes to close and I can't send these stupid copies they are demanding that they already have!! I ended up running over to the bank and begging to use their fax.

I was definitely not laughing at the time!!!

But.. I can laugh now.. because we got the house!! :good:

Now I still need to find a friend with a card I can charge for next weekend. Bah!

Hooray!!! Glad to hear something finally worked out. That is just crazy about the power, it's like the world was conspiring against you. Good luck on the deposit!

This is exactly how I feel right now. I am dealing with some serious FML right now. :(
acidMiasma, I'm glad you got your house though. :)
