I made a website!

Post by tnitnetny »

So I have read some books, looked around at what to do, signed up for some hosting, and made a web page!!

www.quiltoni.com

I have a basic blog attached to it, debating if I want to do a word press and link that instead. I will probably see how the blog works as it is now.

What does everyone think? Seriously be honest. It is my first time doing a web page. Does the layout suck? Does the color hurt your eyes? Be honest. I want to make it the best I can.

Looking at the quilt pics, for the childs play quilt don't you mean 2011?

Did I say 2012? Thanks for the catch!! Changing it now.

I also realized I made the geeky quilts clicky but not the other quilts, so fixing that too.

I think it looks great! It's easy to follow and not cluttered. Very nice!

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. It does say 2001.

Date on the child's play quilt is fixed! I said it the way I did so I can just add the 2012 quilts next to it and label each year going forward.

Thanks Katdun. I tried to make it easy on the eyes and not as wordy as other sites.

I like it very much!

It's easy enough to read and like katdun said, not cluttered. I loved looking at all your quilts on one page! (Makes me want to commission one...!)

The only thing I would say is that it needs a little bit of personalising...like a nice relevant banner or maybe something with a Quiltoni logo? You'd have to come up with one though, or get some volunteers!

I also really liked the idea of the smiles, such a nice idea :D

I actually have a graphic artist friend that is working on a logo for me :D It will go in the upper left corner of the main page.

(It's funny you brouht that up too.) :D

Should I maybe talk about the convention pictures instead of just dates? That would give it more personalization.

I think this is a great idea! I loved seeing all your quilts in one place. You have a serious gift!

I have one small thing to point out (and please ignore me if this is too nit-picky  ) - you've labelled the Tardis quilt close-up as a 'plague' instead of a 'plaque'. Thought it was better to mention it now!

Good luck with this - I hope you get loads of orders! I'm seriously tempted to ask you for something if I can get the cash together!
Current projects: 'Heroes' sketch, experiments with surface embroidery.
