Story-based TV. Specifically,
Storybrooke-based TV.

I can't stand reality TV; most grating is the knowledge that everyone is encouraged to overact, and then creative editing is used to further ham it up, so that ordinary people become caricatures.

Transformers! The original series from '84. I don't like what Michael Bay has done with them.

Lately it's just the fabric for me. Hoops and frames cause more problems than they solve.

If both the book and movie are already out, or the movie will be soon, I prefer to watch the movie first. If I've already read the book then it's adapted into a movie, not much I can do about that.
Music: Original artists or covers?

Covers - tentatively. You know how sometimes you like a song because of what it ought to be, but the original artist isn't up to the task of / doesn't have the material support to realize its potential when s/he first releases it? Covers can fix that. Also, hearing new interpretations has the benefit of both giving me something new and awesome to like and giving me more appreciation for the original. Even a bad cover makes me analyze what I liked better about the original. Everyone wins! (This also applies to live versions of otherwise mediocre songs, e.g. Cheap Trick's "I Want You to Want Me".)

Vellum!

Sorry, had to break my "no tag backs" rule; it was overridden by my paper nerd nature.
