Ready Player One
Has anyone else read this book by Ernest Cline? It's so awesome. I'm rereading it. It is so full of retro video game references, and tons of other nerdy 80s stuff. It's like it was made for everybody on this board! (No, I don't work for the author or anything! I'm just a big time fan.)

Re: Ready Player One
This book is fantastic! The only thing I can complain about is I don't like the cover, the one on the Advanced Reader Copy is so much cooler. But that is totally preferential and in no way related to the quality of the book.

Re: Ready Player One
This is the cover on the copy I got for Christmas:
I really enjoyed it! I could not put it down. It does pander to nerd culture quite a lot though, which I didn't mind, but it put my brother right off the book. He gave up when it got to a couple of pages where the character is just listing his favourite things. You do kind of get the the sense in places that the author is saying 'here are all the things I loved growing up'.

Re: Ready Player One
Boing Boing had an article about this. Personally, I like the other two covers better than the one they published, with the black one being my fav. I haven't read the book yet - too much reading for classes atm - but I plan to.

Re: Ready Player One
Sounds like a cool book! Now I have to think about whether I should add another book to the huge pile of stuff I haven't read yet!
