Geez I guess I’m missing a lot around these parts lately. Sorry to here about all of that, I’ve worked in surgery for over a decade and it is still weird that to me it’s just work but there is a story to every procedure we do. Guess that’s just how you have to do the job. Update please as much as you can, these things really do go very well more than you would think so I have faith you will do fine. Miss all the peeps here, we need to stop being so busy with life and stitch more, maybe it’s the secret to longevity

Hey all, it's been a while, hasn't it? I meant to come update you all a few months ago but with the forum being down I couldn't. But it's now back! So I can!

So last time I spoke to y'all I'd just received my diagnosis. I had stage 3 colorectal cancer, so it was pretty advanced. I had five weeks of chemo and radiotherapy in September/October last year, then had to wait a bit while Trevor (that was my tumour) cooked a bit. By December it had shrunk to about a stage 2 and was no longer in my lymph nodes. In late January I had surgery (a bowel resection and a temporary loop ileostomy) and ol' Trev was escorted off the premises! I went home after about 5 days in hospital, and not long after that my nurse told me I wouldn't need extra chemo as there was no evidence of any more cancer cells. Also ended up with part of my main incision re-opening and that's STILL not fully healed even after 6 months (it's almost there, though!) and I have a slight hernia next to my stoma...but apart from that and some continuing after effects of my treatments I am doing ok!
I've had to stay at home during the covid19 pandemic because of being high risk, so it's been months since I was out (and my dad passed as well, sorting out his affairs has been difficult due to the situation) but I did get back into my stitching and have been trying to make my way through my UFO bucket :D

CONSIDER YOURSELVES UPDATED!!

Glad to hear Trevor was successfully evicted! Hopefully you finish healing up soon, and stay safe in the current crisis. Sorry to hear about your father, it must be particularly hard to handle on top of everything else.

Now that the forum is back its time to bust out the WIPs and the finishes!

OK so you may have noticed I've not been around for a while - on New year's Eve I slipped a disc in my spine and was in so much pain and had to have MRIs and see a spinal specialist etc etc.
I haven't been able to sit up properly for a long time now so I couldn't use my computer! My little laptop is too slow to handle the site and my phone absolutely hates it...so yes, that's why I've been away!

It's almost 12 weeks since I pop'd this disc and it's still not quite healed yet but it's almost there. I hope to get back to my computer more often when I'm able to sit like a normal human :D

Hope you're all well!
