I know what you mean about having your life tied up in your phone. For the longest time, I avoided smartphones like the plague. I had a dumb phone and was unhappy enough that it had replaced my watch. Now I have a Lumia 1020 that is my alarm clock, calendar, camera, notebook, interbutts machine, SMS-o-tron... and oh yeah, somewhere in there it makes phone calls, too. I'm bad about backing up my pictures, but now I'm going to do it tonight so I don't lose them. I'm sorry you lost yours, Bex. :(

But on the bright side, shiny new phone indeed! :nod

I think it's about time to get a watch at least. I doubt much else will change. It's pretty close to my old phone so I know how to use the calendar and alarms and everything. Down the line I've always said I'll get a home phone when I can, but won't be for a while :p

I figured this is pretty neutral, so I thought I'd check in here.

First of all, I miss the sprite stitch community! I've had to be away for a while for multiple reasons. I'm sad I had to miss the swaps and stuff too. I haven't really had time for anything. For some reason, whether it be just how my body is or the antidepressants or who knows, my body thinks it needs at least 8 hours of sleep or I get a terrible headache. Most days I end up sleeping between 9 and 13 hours. So half of my day goes to sleeping. Then of course, I'm still in college so I can't slack off there either. The good news is that I should be graduating with a BS in Psychology in May 2015! On top of school, my family has been very busy for months now since we are moving next month for my dad's job. Therefore, we had an extreme amount of cleaning and getting rid of things and getting the house on the market. Then we found a house that had a contract that was contingent on inspection, but my parents loved it so they put a backup offer on the house. After the inspection, the first party had 48 hours to respond or the deal was supposedly off. So my parents got a call after that amount of time that the house was ours and they stopped looking at houses and signed the papers and such. A few days later, we were notified that the first people got the house and they were negotiating far past the deadline. Needless to say, it was a nightmare. But it just wasn't meant to be. (I still had a good birthday though, despite all of this). Then, two days later my sister had her baby. Since then I've spent way too much time in the car traveling. We did find a house we like much better. It has a theatre room that is amazing! My dad told me I couldn't hook my game systems up in there, but once the novelty wears off I'm totally taking over :P It's also on 20 acres so my dog won't have anyone else to bark at (she has autism). So I'll be in my new house in a little less than a month. The super good news is that since my dad's new job is paying for the move, we don't have to pack anything. Actually, the moving company insists on packing for us so they know it's packed right.

Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I may be busy now, but I hope to be back soon!

Went into my Friendly Local Needlework Store today and asked if she wanted anyone for a part-time position. She said she's been considering it and wants a callback later when she's had a chance to look over her schedule. Here's hoping!

The joys of just missing a train, with the next one not due for an hour. The station is that out of the way it doesn't even have a rest room. :(

The good news about yesterday: we were invited to the next-door neighbors' Viking feast last night. Beef, cabbage, carrots, and unleavened bread trenchers (eaten mostly by hand!). Afterward, the grown-ups played Munchkin while the kids goofed off. I know I'm going to lose my tabletop geek card for it, but I'd never actually played Munchkin before. It was a rousing success of a first game. :)

And the bad news: I woke up at two in the morning to barely make it to an appropriate room in time for a total body purge. I don't think it was the Viking victuals; no one else had problems (in our house, at least). This has been happening to me in the past few years. Stress builds up for about six months and then shuts me down. So I've spent the day practically bedridden.

A most annoying, although begrudgingly small, fml/meh moment....

I have been using the Duolingo app/website to refresh my German from high school and expand upon it. I've been doing a really good job of getting on every day and working on it, even if it is just a little bit. They give you lingots for every ten days you work on it consecutively and they also have a betting type deal where you can bet 5 lingots that you will study every day for 7 days and win 10 lingots. Lingots can also be used to refill your heart meter so you don't "die" by getting things wrong too many times and having to start over, saving your streak for a day of inactivity, timed exercises, etc.

Anyway... after over 50 consecutive days of practicing I completely forgot to log in today and lost my streak and my bet for this week. I'm completely bummed.
