I haven't been doing great in the exercise area. Been dealing with a bunch of crap stuff that's gotten me down. And even though I haven't really changed my eating habits, the scale keeps telling me I've gained weight. Ugh!

But, I've gotten a lot of encouragement from NF, so I'm putting my head down and getting back to it. Had a bit of a step-back yesterday due to not being able to finish kendo class, but even though I was only there for 1 out of 2 hours, it was still a hard workout! I was sweating really hard, and I barely ever sweat.

Today I was going to go walking, but the little one starting throwing up, so that's probably not going to happen...

Hi, guys!

I'm actually in the middle of a 100+ pound weight loss. :) I started sometime in March, and have lost about 40 pounds. :)

My favorite exercises are the Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home" DVDs, or anything Jillian Michaels (if I'm looking to punish myself-lol).

I think the key, at least for me, has been finding an online calorie counter, which made me aware of what I was actually eating. I didn't think that my diet was that bad (and really, it wasn't), but my portions needed help. My Fitness Pal has been a real lifesaver, and has pulled me through where nothing else has. :)

If I can do it, then anyone can. :good:

I was in the same boat! Congratulations on your 40lbs so far! That's fantastic.

I've been actually getting better this summer at exercising. I've set myself the goal of every monday/wednesday/friday exercise and have been able to stick to it for the most part, although sometimes I get too sore for the friday. Its been really helpful now that my schedule has settled down and I can actually consistently do things on the same days. Routine helps apparently!

That said, I'm failing to manage my caloric intake with the exercise. I'm just so hungry after a workout and it feels like I've worked hard so its easy to give in. My weight has been relatively stable (within 5 lbs) but I haven't been able to drop the last bit I wanted to. =/

I'm trying very hard to exercise, but the truth is, I'd rather stitch. it's a real shame that we don't burn extra calories doing that. :sorry: :P

I also find myself starving, after exercising, but it's usually the next day. I have to be very careful to watch my calories, or I'll eat nonstop, the whole day.

I am so with you on BOTH counts! If stitching burned calories I'd be a skinny minnie!!

Go you! Well done on that loss and good luck with the rest. :)
Feel free to add me on MFP, I'm bmh227.

Also with you! I've been exercising a lot more recently and I find when I sit down to stitch in the evening I get the munchies.
My weight isn't really moving but I have lost some inches around my rib area, and other people have noticed so it can't be too bad! Got a charity event on Sunday (sponsors are welcome, of course - https://www.justgiving.com/blackmageheart/) so I feel like I have to keep moving atm. Maybe a bit more will come off soon :)

How did the event go, BMH?

I've been pretty rubbish lately, both with food and excercise. It stops today! I've had my gym stuff sat in the car for the last week, but it's being used tonight for a spinning class, first one in approx 2 months. I also want to start up the c25k again, as that didn't last very long...

It went great! My friend from MFP and I were in the walkers group (we aren't natural runners) but we kept up a good pace and really got some good exercise from it! Some parts of the course were measured funny, I'm sure. They said it was 5k but my GPS tracker said it was 7.2! Ahh well, it was still good!

I've just done a dance class tonight, which I've been really enjoying for the past few weeks. It's called "booyah" and it's like a hip-hop, popping, bum-wiggling version of zumba. That's the only way I can describe it. It's a hell of a workout too, so I'll be aching tomorrow. And I have a combat-based class tomorrow night! Ouch! :)

Way to go! Booyah sounds interesting, I'll have to see if they do something similar near to me.

I've just been thinking about joining some kind of dance class, too. I'm not naturally very coordinated, so I'll probably stink at it, but I'd love to know how to dance. I'm thinking salsa or something along those lines.
