I'm 57 hours into Disney Magical World and I just bought the new Kirby game. I guess I won't be sleeping for the next little while

Some friends and I used to play a homebrewed wrestling-themed card game. There were holds, counters, hold breaks, and combo chains. A special card allowed you to pull off your persona's signature move, usually opening up for a pin - though if your opponent had a kick-out card, they'd be back up for another round.Eliste wrote:We're still waiting for our Cthulhu GM to finish his exams before returning to that game, so we've been playing WWE- Yup, as in Wrestling the RPG. I wasn't that enthused about it, but its so simple that its hilariously fun to play. And being able to say you ran in on the Undertaker and got the snot kicked out of you is pretty cool too.
That's basically what this is like, but as an RPG. So you build your wrestler, decide what kind of wrestler he's going to be (are you a technical wrestler, flippy athletic type, mad bruiser?) then you can make signature moves and finishers to go along with a long line of set moves that you can use to beat up your opponent. Its even got rules for getting the crowd on your side, getting "heat" and that kind of stuff. If you've ever watched pro wrestling, they basically took it and put it in RPG format. And then made it super easy to work out what's happening so its very fluid and easy to tell the story of what's going on in the ring.RMDC wrote: Some friends and I used to play a homebrewed wrestling-themed card game. Add in bonus "interview rounds" out of the ring where you can growl into a microphone and threaten the skinny guy who's asking you questions - but watch out, 'cause another player might jump in and chair you while you're staring at the camera!Eliste wrote:That's basically what this is like, but as an RPG. Those are in there too. We just tend to spend so much time on the ring cause its fun that we dont do much with those. But the game is designed so every night you play is a card.RMDC wrote: Add in bonus "interview rounds" out of the ring where you can growl into a microphone and threaten the skinny guy who's asking you questions - but watch out, 'cause another player might jump in and chair you while you're staring at the camera!
