Pokemon - all gens!

Post by Virdilak »

Much love and very impressed by all the pokemon stitches I've seen here, and I've been planning to take one on. Well, I figure if you're gonna go, go big, so here I am with another hopefully not impossible pattern request.

Big image below:
Spoiler
Image
I fully expect this to be huge and insane. I defer to experience with how big it should be. I can do 18 count pretty easy I think, though if the piece would look better on a small count, by all means feel free to suggest. PDF is preferred.

Thanks, and hope someone can help!

Oh my lord. I think by the time anyone finished this there would be 200 more pokemon to add to it. 0_0

Amazing picture though. I'm afraid I don't have the skills to make the pattern, but I had to comment good luck and god bless for doing it.

I tried, but I failed. My computer crashed while trying to save it after barely being able to import the image as a pattern. I don't really dare try doing it again, the computer started whirring like crazy, sorry.
To give you an idea of size though, I did it 1pixel=1stitch and on 18 count aida it would have been 44.33" wide by 55.66" high.

Oh my.

I suppose it's too much to be patterned. Oh well, I can always do the individual gens.

Thanks much for trying, and apologize to your comp for me.

I'll give it a shot... but damn, that's a large image with a ton of colors. I may have to cut it up into quarters for the program to process.
Without resampling the image it's going to be 44.33" x 55.56" on 18 count fabric (798 x 1000 stitches). I set PC Stitch to use 900 colors max (we'll see what the actual count is if it manages to finish).

edit: it crashed so I'll have to chop up the original and do a multi-part pattern.

Would it be easier / better to do it on like 20 or 22 count?

I hope kuja.girl doesn't mind, but I did similar (with KG-Chart) - 4 parts to the pattern, with a stitch count of 1000 x 798.

As far as I understand (someone correct me if I'm wrong about it) but the only difference the count per inch would (or at least, should) do is make it into a smaller final result - which makes it easier in the sense that you are less likely to need to combine parts (or get custom fabric).

As said, on 18-count, it would be 55.56 x 44.33 inches. (On 14-count, 71.43 x 57")
20-count puts it at 50 x 39.9"; 22-count at 45.45 x 36.27 (which seems almost ridiculously reasonable)

I didn't limit the number of colors (if you're doing it this big, I figured that you'd be willing to do as many colors as it suggested), so I'll have the color chart here once I work it out: (798,000 total count - 234 colors)

EDIT: And Color Chart (or, at least, list) is here:

I can put PDFs in another post, but for now, a combined picture from the PDFs (the larger parts have 72 pages): Note that the line of lighter colors shouldn't actually appear, but is needed in the picture to have the quarters in the correct spots.

Holy cats. Considering how long a three page piece is taking me, this sounds like a multi-year project. Still, nice! Thank you for risking your computer's happiness to indulge my madness.

Yeah, I've got a 320x317 count that I expect to take months (at least). It's half the size of the left pieces in PDF pages.

That said, I'm going to have to try this, but it may finally be what gets me to go to larger counts...
