Original pokemon portraits

Post by darkfirebrand »

I dont suppose any of you have the portraits or sprites of the original 150 Pokemon? I'd love to be able to stitch them as individuals for my other half but can't seem to find any decent quality patterns (I'm probably just not looking hard enough)

Ideally I'd like the individual sprites quite small maybe in the region of 20 x 20 stitches, with the colours in keeping with the games.

Spriter's Resource has everything you need. You can download Gimp for free and edit the sprites into a pattern and from there import the finished picture into a cross stitch program. (or you can eyeball it straight from the gimp file like I do. There's a feature that lets you put on a grid too, but it won't print as it's just a guideline for placing images)

It just depends on what generation/style you want them in like

Red/Blue

Yellow

or later.

Each full pokemon sprite fits inside a 40 x 40 block. You might be able to get something small within that 20x20 but things like Charizard will take up much more space. To get the much smaller forms, you need the

Or the overworld sprites from Heartgold/Soulsilver (NOTE: These might need a bit of editing because the front facing view has the pokemon stepping forward with a left or right foot. No in betweens)

Much more detailed tiny sprites comes from the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, but something like Gyarados or Moltres is probably outside the 20x20 limit.
