Alrighty everybody, you can stop holding your breath, the Toast has returned with the promised update! I got to exactly 20% today at exactly noon, and convinced the boyfriend to let me use his legs again. I had to shrink the picture a lot so that it wouldn't take over people's screen, so it's kinda small. If anyone wants to see a specific section closer up, you just gotta ask. Anyway here it is in all it's unfinished glory!

I ran out of the three oranges along the way because I only bought one of each of the possibles while I was trying to figure out my colour pallet. Considering the pile of still to be used up skeins I have left on my desk, I'm gonna try and wait for a bit before I go and get the rest of the thread I need. Anyway, back to my slow slog of stitching!

Later days.

It looks great and I am sure you will do a great job just like you did on my birthday present (which I still have lol). Dont rush it take all the time you need. Saw those cones of thread but they were mostly used for sewing or machine embroidery. Your pic will be almost as big as my Lions.

The radio silence is over! I return with news. Sadly, it's not all that good. I'm at 27% and I've been stuck there for a week or so. The reason is this:

I work in a kitchen so I'm used to getting nicks and scratches, but this was a second degree burn right on my knuckle. It's been making it a little difficult to grasp anything so stitching has been slowed to an almost crawl. BUT! There is a ray of hope amongst a sea of negativity. I've finished one colour completely! And, I've got another two that are under 50 stitches! :yahoo:

Get that yucky stuff out of here and come back with an update!

Just kidding. I know the pain of burns on hands, having gone through 4 semesters of Culinary Arts. Hope you heal quickly!

Wow, that is going to look spectacular! I'm so in awe of you people that do huge projects. I hope your hand heals quickly so you can get back on with this masterpiece.

Also 'loafoftoast', just thought I'd say that your avatar is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!

Sadly for this picture the boyfriend's legs were unavailable so I had to improvise with what I had around the apartment.

Oh, and I too think my avatar is cute. Is why I saved it through four different computer crashes.
