On The Edge

Postby loafoftoast » Mon Aug 13, 2012 5:44 am

So, this is my first time posting here and I just wanted to show you guys my insanity. It's slightly less stitches than the Epic Pokemon patterns, and a lot less colours, but still has that edge of "oh dear gods, why?" to it.

This is what it's going to look like when it's finished.

Obviously, it's not by me, but I did get the artist's permission to do a cross stitch of it. He even wants to see it when it's finished!

I've started on the left side of the image, and am working my way right. Every day before I stitch I take a picture to show where I am. This is the newest (blurry) photo.

It's 3 strands over 14ct, because that's the smallest count I could get in the size I needed, and I've already gone through almost three skeins of the almost black.

This is going to be beautiful, something that'll grab everyone's attention when they enter the room. How big is it going to be?

When it's done it's going to be approximately 40" by 13"

It's going to be wonderful.
The colours are so striking, especially the purples and oranges. I hope the threads do the image justice, but I'm sure they will!

Best of luck and keep us updated! :D

I just finished my fourth skein of 939 so I decided to upload a new picture. It only took me so long to do it because I had to go in and unpick a karp-load of the other colours I'd already stitched. I took a second look at the colours, and they didn't really match all that well to the original. Sadly, I forgot to check the colours PCStitch gave me before I started.

So I don't know if you guys care or not, but I figured out the majority of my colours today after a very fun trip to Micheal's, and I took a picture.

The colours on the right are 90% of the sunset colours, but I have to go back sometime this week to find the one missing purple, as well as the browns and greens for the woods/stones.

Anyway... I haven't been able to get much done this weekend due to going to a concert and family drama with The Boyfriend. But, if anybody really wants to see an update, I'll post one after I'm done stitching for the night.

Very pretty! Now I'm apparently blind, but is that Ash on the cliff, and someone else? I can't make it out!
