Just a little something I whipped up in a few days for my fiance. He has to go away for school for his job from time to time, so I wanted to make him a little Love reminder ^_^
16 count aida, 3 stands. Used Black (DMC 310) for the kanji, and Red (DMC 817) for the backstitches. Its a little hard to see, but the kanji is also outlined in backstitch for a little added something something. The finshed image is framed in a 4x6 frame.
The other reason I wanted to share this is to explain how I made the pattern. I looked online for kanji as a font. I blew the font up in photoshop, figured out how many 'pixel' per character and made that into the pattern. ^_^ I am so excited that technically now I can use any font I want to turn into a pattern ^_^ Yay!

Aww that's so sweet! ^^
It looks really cool in the black frame. Nice one for figuring out how to do fonts - I will definately be taking a leaf out of your book in the future!!

That is awesome! how exactly did you change the kanji into a pattern? i'm not sure what you did in photoshop. I have it, but I was never formally taught how to use it.
if you could post, or link me to, a tutorial of how you did this, I would be eternally grateful!

Sooo cute! Bet your fiance loved it
I've done something similar with the font - you could do something similar in Paint, I believe.
(IMO here... )
Use the font tool to write your text, chuck on a grid, and TADA! Font gridded (you'll have to fix up some bits to make it more pixel-ly, but otherwise that's it...). Hope that makes sense? In Photoshop you can do the same sorta thing (This works for pictures as well ^^)
Hope that helps?
