That monkey and banana are adorable and I need them. I can crochet but my amigurumis never come out nearly that good. I'm jelly.

Aw, so cute! I've been doing a lot of amigurumi too. It's awesome that the banana can come out of the peel. :)

Thanks, everybody!

I actually finished crocheting an 8-bit mario (flat sqaure, going to turn it into a pillow I think) and I like it so much I thought about making it into a blanket and making lots of other NES items, but I actually want to crochet a fleur-de-lis blanket for my friend, so that will be my next crochet project I think and I'll keep this as a pillow.

I probably should crochet a back for the pillow, but the lazy half of me wants to just use regular fabric. I will make it a pouch for a pillow insert so it can be washed if needed. That's basically what's holding me back from finishing it; being indecisive over crocheting the back or not. Now that I've written it out, it seems obvious that I should just crochet the back, but then again, I wouldn't be able to make it the insert that way... hmm...

Here's the pillow front:

That came out really well! May I ask what technique(s) you used? Tunisian crochet or something else?
Nice work!

Thanks! I just used regular crochet, turning at each end. I made each pixel 2 x 2, so going down and back had the same color pattern. I don't know how to change colors properly, so I was just tying it down and changing it out (so the back is a mess of cut ends). I'll figure out how to do that before I try anything larger :)

I tried using 1 pixel per stitch and it didn't look blocky enough to be clear. The 2 x 2 worked pretty well, though.
