It's like back stitching, but you only go in one hole and down the other and have to tack the thread in place with a strand of the same color.

Oh lord, don't say that. xD They look neat in the picture but they are NOT. I'm glad the camera makes it look so much less messy than it is. I hate doing 18ct projects. Such a pain. But worth it!

Well, after the couching frustrated me a little, I'm proud to say I'm DONE! I started this back on June 10th of last year so... 8 months of work. Done in LOTS of time for my dad's birthday, or father's day, this year! I'll add a picture when it's dry and pressed!

Yeah, on the left side of his face the whiskers were a pain because everything overlapped. Oi. xD It wasn't that hard once I learned what I did wrong.
