Sega Genesis and Mega Drive Plushies

Post by donnamevans »

Hey all!
My name is Donna *howdy*

I'm new here, and I thought I'd upload a few things I've made recently. I am planning a 16-Bit Sonic quilt, as he was my hero growing up.
And to add to this, a Mega Drive console plush and Mega Drive and Genesis control pad cushions I also made with squeakers in them!

The Genesis cushion, made of soft anti-pill fleece:

Sorry for the low quality pic, you can see it here in my deviantART gallery: http://tavington.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2xpn66

And the Mega Drive version, for all you Europeans like me :D

Sorry for the low quality pic again, you can see it here in my deviantART gallery though: http://tavington.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2y2q4y

The Mega Drive plush, also made with anti-pill fleece and iron on transfers, and velcro, PVC, cord and hot glue.

I can't wait to get started on my next project! Thanks for looking everybody! I'd appreciate comments if you have the time, thank you! <3

Aw man, that's all kinds of awesome.

(Fun fact, the Mega Drive was the first console I bought for myself)

Thanks Servotron!
I really had fun making something a bit different like this!
The first ever console I owned, and bought for myself was the Master System II :D

Holy crap I love the Mega Drive II plushie, it looks so much like the real thing! (And I have mine right here, so I'm doing a comparison as I type, lol). I love the pads too. Do you have any plans for other console/pad plushies? I'd love to see a Saturn or a Dreamcast :D

Thank you so much! I was planning on doing some more, but I began making a new American McGee's Alice bag, and I have some big art projects in the works.
I was intending on doing the Game Gear next, complete with squeakers.
But now I'm trying my hand at quilting for the first time. I'm attempting a 16 bit Sonic quilt. : ) I've done 2 rows, only about 40 to go haha!

And thank you also to double j and Yurtle! I appreciate your comments!

I love that you focused on the actual hardware. It's just... so iconic. I too grew up as a Genesis girl, and I completely appreciate what you've done here. :D

And good luck on the Sonic quilt! Can't wait to see it. Sega deserves a little bit more love in this forum. :)
