The squares measure out to about 3/4 inch. I'm using this method http://thecrochetcrowd.com/cornertocorner/

I've never seen the corner to corner technique before. I'm going to have to look into that one.

It's beautiful! Many thanks for posting the link to the tutorial btw - I've managed to make a small blanket using (mostly) stash yarn and it turned out really well! I love the detail of your blanket and it really pops with the black background
