Thank you for the recipe :) I've never encountered dl as a measure before. Would it be 100ml? Or related to a cup?

Yes 1dl is 0.1 litre or 100 ml. If i remember correctly it is about 0.4 somthing cups.

Oh man! I would love to give this a whirl but it brings back memories of the last time Mom and I tried to make a gingerbread house. *flashback to sticky mess and crumbling walls*
Maybe for Xmas 2015, I'll work up the nerve.

Ha! It would make a much more interesting story to say kitchen walls but, no, twas an unfortunate mishap with the butter knife through a wall or two because of way too thick royal icing. We tried to patch it but suffice it to say that Hansel and Gretel wouldn't have been tempted by THAT pile of sludge.
